Annette's Bulky Mittens

I've made 2 sets of these fantastic mittens and I just can't get enough. I was on a frantic deadline for pair number two and managed to have them ready to wrap in just 4.5 hours!

Ella Rae Kamelsoft (1.5 skeins) and less than 1 skein of Classic Elite Fresco. Merino Wool, Camel and Alpaca - YUMMY!

One pair is Chocolate Kamelsoft with pink Fresco and the other is Black Kamelsoft with grey Fresco. The combinations are endless. Now... what colors to cast on for me?

Holiday Gnomes

You can still knit these up before Christmas.

I hope you can tell how much fun we had! There's a shot here of Lori when she's knitting so fast her hands are blurry! (click on a picture to see a larger version)

"Thai Die" book opening

We spent the evening at The Locust Street Hotel with author, Monica Ferris. What a delight it was. Approximately 50 people listened to Monica read from her new needlework mystery. We even examined the staircase where a significant death occurs in the novel. Monica helped my son Sam re-enact the scene. He was quite happy to oblige.

Yes, that is a live bunny that is happily sharing its fur with the spinning wheel. I believe her name was Blanche. Lisa from Amboy's "Cottage Cafe" was there with spinning wheel and her famous pie.
We still have a few signed copies available at the shop. I already bought one for my mom.

Walk Safely

Lori and Nadine were very careful when they ventured out for a walk on the Root River Trail. We didn't see one deer or hunter, but we were ready.

Tangled Skein Retreat 2008

What a great time with friends!

We always start out with "Show and Tell". This can be a project you're proud of, or one that did not turn out quite as you expected.

Sarah inspired us to "think outside the box" with her beautiful Silk Garden scarves.

Tracie's market bag turned out a "little" bigger than intended.

Marguerite's lace work is incredible

and Cecily, although not in attendance, set a theme for the weekend with her project bag. If laughter makes you live longer, we should all be centenarians.

Baby Hat

Here's another great baby gift knocked out in just a few hours.

It is Lori's pattern that is available in the store using Debbie Bliss Rialto in pink and brown.

I did the first 10 rows in pink, then switched to brown when I started the purl rows. Part way up the decreases, I switched to the pink again with one row of every other stitch pink and then dropped the brown completely for the rest of the hat. It is all washed now and once it is dry, it will go off to the new baby girl of a co-worker of mine.

Political Gnomes?

I have to admit, I am as sick of the political ads and campaigns as anyone but who can resist this! Marguerite's friend made this for her, the detail is incredible!

Hangin' with my GNOMEBOYS!!

Marie Mayhew has done it again. They are so cute and easy you can do them up for any holiday or even special theme. Jill did a Harley Davidson gnome!

I can't wait to do the santa.

THAI DIE!!!!

I just finished the proof of this new novel by Monica Ferris. The Tangled Skein will be co-sponsoring her publishing event at the Locust Steet Hotel in St. Peter. Her characters make their way to St. Peter and other nearby areas. It was great fun to read, and has alot of local flavor. Join us and get your own "signed" copy on December 2.

Original Tangled Skein patterns!

Have you seen the new Tangled Skein original patterns at the store?

This is Lori's pattern for a baby hat that I made with Debbie Bliss Rialto in "punkin" colors. This is my first time with Debbie Bliss yarn and I am IN LOVE! :-)

There's also an adorable beret pattern by Sally that is next on my "to be knit" list for an equally adorable niece.

There may have been some new bags (sewn by Sally) that came home with me as well - those darn enablers!

Eastside Ribbed Scarf

This is another Sarah design and is beautiful in Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino. Looks fabulous on Nadine and she didn't really want to take it off, it feels sooooo good!

Pattern is available at the shop.

Who said Lori can't finish a sweater!

OK so it's an ornament, at least I finished the sleeves.

New Book Nook

Check out our new book browsing area. New titles arrived last week and the new Holiday Interweave is in too!!

Addie's Jacket

I knitted this cute little jacket for great niece - Addie.

She is 5 months old and just a ham!!!

I used stampedo pink. And the pattern, if I remember correctly was in a Debbie Bliss book.

Pumpkin Dip for Ginger Snaps

Sue recommends this dip to go with the ginger snaps, as if they are not fattening enough. I can't wait to try it.

8 oz cream cheese
1- 18 oz can of pumpkin
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 tsp ginger

Beat the cream cheese until smooth and then add the other ingredients. Mix well. Serve with cookies.

ALL DRESSED UP

Sally and Bob looked great when they stopped in after their Goddaughter's wedding on Saturday.

What??? Is that some kind of gang symbol that Sally is flashing?

Ask her about it.

Eastside.......

A toast to THE TANGLED SKEIN!!!
