Pumpkin Dip for Ginger Snaps

Sue recommends this dip to go with the ginger snaps, as if they are not fattening enough. I can't wait to try it.

8 oz cream cheese
1- 18 oz can of pumpkin
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 tsp ginger

Beat the cream cheese until smooth and then add the other ingredients. Mix well. Serve with cookies.

The Tangled Skein's Ginger Snap Cookies

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger

Refrigerate for 1 hour. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll into balls and roll in sugar. Bake 5 minutes, lift corner of pan and drop so cookies fall. Bake 2 more minutes.

Note: I think I baked them longer than 7 minutes, so I'm sure it depends on your oven

Fiber Trends Ear Cozies hat

This Fiber Trends Ear Cozies hat (CH-34) is one of my favorite baby hat patterns.

I used the new Sheep Shop Yarn Company sock yarn (Spring colorway) from the shop with size 5 needles and was able to start AND finish it in one day - yeah! I made the small size for 3-6 months and have more than half the ball left!

This one will be mailed off to my new niece who was born September 16th!

Sock Club getting underway!

The Sox Pistols sock club is once again in session. We will meet the second Sunday of September for sign up and treats. We are thinking about meeting every month, but only getting new sock yarn every other month. That way we have a chance at keeping up. We will discuss this option at our first meeting, September 14.

Remember, you can have yarn and pattern shipped for a small fee.

Cost will remain $20 for each month that we have new sock yarn. That will include pattern and yarn for one pair of adult socks.
