Michelle Fox sat many an evening with us and we enjoyed her sense of humor and love of knitting. We will miss her and we send our deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

Finished Socks
Disorders?

We at the Tangled Skein apparently have many disorders. I'm talking about knitting of course. Annette has her "completion anxiety" and I sadly suffer from "Second Sock Syndrome". I was very proud to complete this sock, but somehow I can’t get started on the second. This one is called the Hedgerow sock and is knit from Araucania Ranco sock yarn. Beautiful, but very lonely. Maybe this summer.

What, exactly, does everyone mean by "finished" projects?
I've noticed a rather disturbing trend in the voting...photos of finished projects? Is anyone, by chance, making reference to my "completion anxiety"? That's what my hubby named my problem a few years ago. I am going to make a grand effort to record at least my current projects on this blog. I think it would be fun if all of the tangled skein knitters did the same. Be sure to send Tracie your photos!
New Rowan and Skacel yarns are in

We have new Yarn! The new spring/summer yarn from Rowan is here.We also received a new silk/cotton blend from Skacel in the store. It's the yarn that was used for the yellow Holly Jacket on the cover of the last Interweave Knits.
Yarn filled pictures will be coming soon!

We need your help!
Are you willing to share pictures of your projects with us?
Send them to Tracie (tracie AT amsden DOT net) and she'll get them posted on the blog.
To get the (yarn) ball rolling ...
This is one work in process (wip) that I am working on for an upcoming class at the shop.
This is called Calorimetry and is a free pattern from Knitty. I would love to say you will see more than one example at the class but I accidentally felted one ...oops!
Here's part of the description of the pattern from Knitty
"Calorimetry is a scientific term describing the measurement of heat lost or gained. Knit hats are a wonderful way to block out the cold, but when you have long hair it usually requires wearing it down, not often the most comfortable option on a blustery day. This headscarf allows you to wear your hair up while keeping your ears warm and preventing heat from escaping from the top of your head.
My friend Meredith wears hers all around San Francisco and is modeling it here on the Big Sur coast. This can be knit quickly for a last minute gift, and as it only requires one skein of yarn you can afford to knit one for all of your friends. "
