Chic Chickens!!

Check out these fowl friends. They are knit in the new Rowan Purelife Organic Cotton.

Lori, Barb, and Sally are already hard at work knitting them up so that you can meet Gordan, Jamie and Hugh in person. Yes, those are their names.
The rest of the barnyard is here too. How about knitting Sonia the Cow or Rosie the Pig?

We couldn't resist them, can you?

Knitting with toothpicks?!?

Sue has posted a video on her blog where she is knitting with toothpicks for a project she's doing. WOW!

You'll have to check it out to see for yourself. Are you going to bring in the finished altered-tin for us to see Sue?

Bickford Seam

I am doing a little internet browsing this morning as I sit in the sunshine and enjoy my vacation day.... I just stumbled upon this seaming technique called the Bickford seam. I can't wait to try it out! I have a sweater sitting here that I finished last summer but haven't worn yet because it is all in pieces and I just can't make myself sit down and sew it together.

This seam works when you have a flat stockinette fabric on both sides that need to be joined together. It is flat and looks great on the right and the wrong side! Perfect for putting the middle of a collar together or the edge of a hat where you need to turn over the fabric and have it look good on both sides.

Spring Knitty is up - can soaring temps be far behind?

The spring edition of Knitty is up and the patterns once again look fantastic.

This baby mobile really caught my eye - what a great way to use up some of the scrap yarn in my stash! You could really change out the colors in this to match any nursery or baby's personality.

Go Knit pouches

This week on the Knitters Review Clara Parkes is talking about the Go Knit pouches. I have been using one for over a year now and would hate to be without it! I have a sock on the needles in it at all times and it tucks in the corner of my purse. I've knit in all sorts of places and loved having the ball of yarn tucked safely in the pouch. The little strap that snaps has also come in handy on a crowded plane or two when I was smooshed for space and strapped it to my seat belt to be sure it didn't fall onto the floor.

Check out Clara's review and then check out the hot pink and lime green ones I saw at the store earlier this week.... you may want to get there before I work on Saturday morning! ;-) One may be coming home with me!

Baby Jacket by Sarah

Look at this beautiful baby sweater that Sarah made and has at the shop. The texture is beautiful. It is the February Baby Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmerman (Knitter's Almanac).

Spring Twist Collective

The spring issue of the Twist Collective is now up. I have my eye on the Ardent Jacket by Kat Coyle although the baby stuff is pretty neat too.

There's even an article on knitting with wire!
