Hedgerow Mitts

The Knitters Review has a nice free pattern in this week's review. You can see it here.

Clara says: "To kick off the vacation schedule, here's a fantastic fingerless mitts adaptation of Jane's Hedgerows Socks pattern, fittingly called Hedgerow Mitts. Designed by longtime KR member Amy Ripton, it uses the hand-dyed yarns from Spirit Trail Fiberworks. Quick and satisfying, the pattern is perfect for warm-weather knitting."

Just Like Us!!!

The current health care system does not work for women. On Wednesday, Secretary Sebelius met with women small-business owners at a knitting shop in Washington D.C. to discuss health reform.

How can you NOT smile when you look at this cutie!

Cascade 220 scraps with (unpopped) popcorn for weight in the legs and trunk, fiberfill in the rest. Pattern is here and here or we'll have a copy for you at the class we are offering in June!

Tuesday friend...

One of our "Tuesday Afternoon" knitters made this incredible item from the new Vogue magazine.

I couldn't stop myself from staring at it!

Gorgeous lace...

Marguerite made this gorgeous shawl and had it at the store to show us. (please forgive the blurry photos!)

Free Press article: Alpaca shearing

Did you see today's Mankato Free Press article about the Sibley Park Alpacas that received their annual haircut?

There are great pictures here.

Each animal had 7 to 8 pounds of yummy alpaca fleece that the shearer received for his shearing services.
