I am doing a little internet browsing this morning as I sit in the sunshine and enjoy my vacation day.... I just stumbled upon this seaming technique called the
Bickford seam. I can't wait to try it out! I have a sweater sitting here that I finished last summer but haven't worn yet because it is all in pieces and I just can't make myself sit down and sew it together.
This seam works when you have a flat stockinette fabric on both sides that need to be joined together. It is flat and looks great on the right and the wrong side! Perfect for putting the middle of a collar together or the edge of a hat where you need to turn over the fabric and have it look good on both sides.
