Sock Summit 2009

There's a great article about the Sock Summit (August 6-9 in Portland, Oregon) along with a slide show of pictures.

On Friday, they gathered to try to break the World Record for the most people to knit at once in one place. It won't be official for a week, but the old record was 256 and there were 1800 people registered for the Sock Summit!

Chic Knits Fall 2009

There are some great new patterns from Chic Knits at the shop that I was eyeing on Saturday. Sally is working on this one and it is going to be gorgeous!

I'll be at the shop all day on Saturday (we're open 10 am to 5 pm) so stop in to see if I'll resist the urge to buy yet ANOTHER sweaters worth of yarn and pattern! ;-)

I love the new Interweave knits and can't wait to make some of the projects. Is it mean to say I'm really loving the fact that I got mine first and I didn't have to avert my eyes from the temptation of looking at the ones the store received first?!?

Where is that new Interweave? I know subscribers have it, that's a switch that you have it before the shop.

Thank goodness for weekends

So what is on your calendar for the weekend? I am knitting on Monkey Socks while getting our new computer set up at home. I'm using the yarn we got at the last Sox Pistols session and really liking the greens showing up in the yarn as I get the leg done.

Thank goodness I have something to keep me busy while I am waiting for the "next" button to come up on the computer. What in the world do non-knitters do to keep from going crazy while sitting for hours watching the computer monitor?

I am also checking out my new Interweave Knits that just came in the mail. There are so many projects in this issue that I really want to start right away. I wonder how long it will take before Lori has to order more issues for the store?!?
