Happy birthday Logan!

I made this Hoot hat for my grand-nephew Logan's first birthday.  The best part was he opened it in one of his first gifts and then wore it the rest of the afternoon!  LOVE his reaction to my hand knits - definitely worthy of more hand knit objects!    This is a fantastic (and quick) pattern and yarn from Spud and Chloe... and it's all easy care washable for my niece!  Glad to see there's a great supply at The Tangled Skein, I think it's time to get started on his Christmas gift.

Ravelers Knit Night on Monday (November 8th)

We will be gathering to knit together on Monday, November 8th from 7 to 9 pm at the Locust Street B & B (NW corner of Locust Street and Minnesota Avenue)

I will be there working on try number FOUR of my desire to knit mittens for a college freshman in my life.

Attempt one I had the colors reversed and didn't like it so ripped and started over, attempt two I had the gauge all wrong and it was huge, attempt three I over compensated by smaller needles AND removing stitches so of course now it's too small.

It's really a good thing knitting/crocheting will let us pull it all out and start again!

Beginning Knitting starting tomorrow!

In our beginning knitting class you will not just learn the basics of knitting!

This class meets 4 times and covers the basics; Casting On, the Knit Stitch, the Purl Stitch, Increasing, Decreasing, and Casting Off. You will also learn to read a pattern and will complete a hat during this class. This means you will be learning to knit in the round on circular needles, and finishing on double pointed needles!

This class is for those who have never knit before, and for those of you who have never knit in the round.

Come and join the world of knitting!

Tuesdays November 2, 9, 16, 23 from 6-8pm
