So do you think they will put a limit on yarn now like there is on spray paint?

The End of "The Skein"
The Tangled Skein will be closing on May 7. It was a very difficult decision, but we decided that although we still love knitting with everyone, we can do that without the crazy schedules. Don't fret. We will get together and we can keep up through the blog, facebook, Ravelry, etc. Come in and celebrate with us over the next few weeks. Lori, Sally, and Sarah

Woolen coffin?
I am on several email lists so there have been some really odd things that have passed through my inbox.... this one I just had to share.
From Time: "To help it survive — and thrive — in Britain's shrinking textile industry, Hainsworth, a 225-year-old, family-run wool mill in West Yorkshire, England, has developed niche uses for wool. Its product range includes the uniforms worn by the Royal Guards at Buckingham Palace, the felt lining inside Steinway pianos and the interior headlining used in Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles. But it is one of Hainsworth's most recent, and most unique, new products that's making the company's competitors look sheepish: woolen coffins."

Julie's adorable finished object
Hi ladies!
I bought the yarn and pattern for this outfit at the Tangled Skein while I was home in St. Peter for the summer.
Back in NJ, I ran out of yarn for the hat, so I added the extra stripes. (It's just supposed to be green.) I'm hoping to use the pants for "longies" when I start cloth diapering.
Thanks for selling great yarn! This is the first project I've done from a pattern. Lucia is so warm!

Gustie Mittens - a success
My attempt to create Gustie mittens is officially a success... and she likes them!
Of course now I'm officially nervous that needle felting could be just as addicting as knitting!

Sure to leave you .... "in stitches"
These fiber related jokes showed up in my inbox today and I couldn't resist sharing (I hate to groan alone!)
Why did the hog farmer give up knitting?
Answer: He didn't want to cast his purls before his swine!
What did the knitter use to make a suit of armor?
Answer: She used steel wool!
What did Puff Daddy say when 50 Cent gave him a hand knit scarf for Christmas?
Answer: " Gee, you knit?!"
"G-Unit" is the name of 50 Cent's rap group.
GROOOAAAAAANNNNNNNN!

Our thoughts are with you
Bev Galeskas, founder and owner of Fiber Trends passed away on December 29th after a valiant fight against cancer. She is survived by her husband and son.
She not only created patterns for Fiber Trends but also had designs published in other books and some books of her own. The fiber community has truly lost a talented member!
I have knit so many of her designs that I feel like she was a personal friend of mine. This picture of my grand-nephew would not have been possible without Bev and her Ear Cozies pattern!
